YMCA Pre-K picnic! (5/29/09)

The YMCA hosted an end-of-the-school-year picnic for all of their preschoolers and their families at the Sawmill facility. We had a good time and as you can see, the kids had a great time climbing and sliding! :)

Little Fire-girls! (10/15/08)

Today was "fire safety day" at Preschool. Firemen on the fire truck came to visit Angelia and Savanna's preschool. It was exciting for them!
When we went to the pick the girls up from Preschool, Anthony spotted all of the firemen hats and wanted one. Angelia gave her hat to her little brother and he was thrilled... and hasn't parted with it since. **update - It's been a few days since "fire safety day" and Anthony has not let his fireman hat go! He takes it everywhere with him ... to bed, to go out, into the bathroom when he takes a bath...! :) I tell him he's like "Fireman Sam" ... he smiles and says "Fi-man Sam!" and giggles! :) what a little cutie!
p.s. I love the last pic of Anthony in his diaper and fireman hat! :) I think we should have this pic in the annual firemen calendar! :)

BYE PreK-3! (6/10/08)

Today, Angelia's preschool class got together for their final farewell to 3 yr. old Preschool. The teachers invited the parents, etc. in for a brief end of the year program where the teachers & students got to show the parents what they have done and learned during their school year. The kids did their colors, letters, weather, etc. and sang songs. It was really cute!
Angelia had great teachers this year-- Mrs. Haas (top) and Mrs. Baum (bottom)-- which she loved! They were awesome!
Now we'll enjoy a little time off and then start back up again in PreK-4 in September! Where does the time go?

Boardwalk day at PreK (6/6/08)

The staff at Angelia's Preschool hosted a "Boardwalk Day" for the students to end the last week of Preschool. They had food, face painting, games, etc. -- all staffed by the PreK teachers & assistants. The had a beautiful day and all of the kids (and parents) were having a great time! Angelia had a lot of fun! :)
p.s. This was the 1st time she got her face painted and loved it! A pretty little flower on her cheek (to match her shirt, of course!)... :)

I bloomed... (6/5/08)

I bloomed at Holy Cross Preschool ... this is what Angelia's t-shirt reads (she made her t-shirt, by the way!)
I can't believe it... it's already here... Angelia's last day of 3 yr. old Preschool and she has certainly bloomed this year in so many ways! She has grown & learned so much since she started PreK in September. On the 4 year old PreK (in the Fall)-- already!!

Finally... a "noodle necklace"! (2/7/08)

If you recall Angelia's 1st day of Preschool, she was kind of disappointed at the fact that they didn't make "noodle necklaces" that day... she obviously had big expectations for her 1st day of Preschool! Well-- as I promised her, she finally got the chance to make one and was thrilled! When I pointed out how nice her "noodle necklace" was, she was quick to correct me that it was a "maca-woni neckwace"! (well-- excuse me!) :) lol... too funny at this age!

I'm the "Picture Parent"... imagine that!? (12/20/07)

Yes-- I signed up to be the "picture parent" for Angelia's CHRISTmas party. I was the parent taking pictures of the class aduring their party... making sure I got a shot of EVERY kid. Supposedly, the pictures taken throughout the year will all come together for a year-end project-- I can't wait! :) Anyway-- the kids had a ball! They made wreaths using mini bagels, green cream cheese, & candy for decoration, they made "reindeer food" to put out on Christmas Eve, and they got to decorate their own gingerbread man-- and got to eat all of tehir goodies in the end, of course! All of these projects were firsts for Angelia... she did a great job and had fun!!
p.s. OMG-- she also made Michael and I a Christmas present! It's a tile with a Christmas tree on it made from her hand and it says, "Hand-made with love"... OMG-- my heart is melting!! :) I LOVE hand-made gifts!!

Angelia's 1st school show! (12/18/2007)

She had her 1st singing debut... in her Preschool's CHRISTmas presentation. Daddy, Mommy, the triplets, Memom, & Aunt Kelly came out to watch this very short, but very cute "show". The BIG SHOW DAY that she had been practicing for was finally here.. she was excited! She had been singing WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS and RING RING RING THE BELLS at home for weeks!
At the show, Angelia came into the chapel leading the line and happliy on the alter she stood... she looked very proud and was happy to see all of us there for her. Once the music started, though, she froze... she didn't sing or do the hand motions like most of her classmates. She stood there for the most part looking down at her hands and playing with a hair-tie she got from her pocket.... a little "stage fright"?!? Her "proud Daddy" taped the entire show... it was very cute! At that age, you never know what is going to happen... 14 kids doing 14 different things. The kids all did a really good job, though!
When we met up with her at the end, she was still very happy & excited... we told her what a good job she did. We commented to her how we would have loved to have heard her voice and all she could do was smile and say "I know." :) That's my girl! :)

Donuts for Dad (11/29/07)

Today, Angelia's preschool had "Donuts for Dad" day. Since they will not be in school when Father's Day actually rolls around in June, they have their "Father's Day" celebration in the Fall. So... Michael (a.k.a. the "proud Daddy") went to Angelia's school today and enjoyed the time with his little girl. :) Each of the kids in the class had their Dad or someone there to share the special day with. They gave the kids and the dads donuts and the kids gave each of their Dads projects they had made, which Michael loved-- and so did I-- I'm a sucker for "homemade" gifts! :)

She made a magnet... it was her hand traced and a little poem on it that read... I made this handprint for you so that one day when I am tall, you'll remember what my hands looked like long ago when I was small. AAAAWWWW-- I know... my heart is melting, too!! She colored a card for her "Dad" that had a little saying about her Dad being special. And finally-- the funniest and cutest "project" was the fill-in-the-blank "My Daddy is..." project. Over the course of a few weeks, the teachers would ask these "random questions" and would fill in the blanks for the kids. This is how Angelia's turned out (the info in BOLD are Angelia's responses).... My Daddy is 25 years old and is 4 feet tall! He is very strong! He can even lift cookies. My daddy's job is to bake cookies. His favorite thing to do with me is to pick me up. I really love my dad! He's as cool as school! Love, Angelia lol... too cute! Michael said that among the other dads in the class, he was "tagged" as the 2nd oldest dad in the class... another child's dad was "tagged" as 84 and all of the others were like 1, 4, etc. years old... lol. The thing about the cookies... he does bake cookies with her... this kid doesn't miss a trick!

So-- just thought I'd share. I love these little "happenings" and Michael had a good time with his BIG little girl. She loves her Daddy! :)

Halloween at Preschool! (10/30/07)

Angelia was VERY excited for her Halloween parade and party at Preschool! She got all dressed up in her costume ... she's a "Pumpkin Princess" this year ... and off to school she went to join all of her classmates who were all dressed up as well. Angelia's class started their day with a "mini costume parade" in the playground of their preschool... in pairs, they paraded around the playground 2x-- it was cute... and then they returned to their classroom for a Halloween party.

During the party, besides having lots of goodies to eat, they decorated trick-or-treat bags for themselves and got the chance to decorate a pumpkin cookie! Angelia did a great job with decorating her cookie (as you can see!)... this was a 1st for her. You can tell she has "decorating instincts/skills" like all of the bakers/cake decorators in the family that have come before her... Pop-Pop, Memom, Mommy, Aunt Kelly! :)

Pretty, pretty pumpkin (10/23/07)

Today at preschool, Angelia decorated a pumpkin for the 1st time! She was very excited and proud of her creation. Her pumpkin was decorated with paint and TONS of glitter... I'm sure that classroom was quite a sight with thirteen 3 year-olds, paint, and glitter in the mix at 1 time!! :)

Angelia's 1st "school pictures" (10/16/07)

"It's Tuesday... it's picture day at pee-school!" Angelia exclaimed when we asked her "what today was" when she woke up on Tuesday morning (10/16). She got all "prettied up" and off she went to Preschool for her 1st school pictures. It was cute to see all of the kids all dressed up for their special day. I can't wait to see how they came out... she got a class and individual pics taken. Should be cute!! :)

p.s. As you can see, I couldn't let her leave the house without taking a pic of her myself! :)
