Thank you March of Dimes! (4/29/07)

On April 29, 2007-- we took part in the March of Dimes Walk America 2007! All of us as a family, along with other NICU families from Capital Health System at Mercer (where are babies were born), other friends, and co-workers, did the 5 mile trek through Mercer County Park in support of the March of Dimes. WE DID IT! Michael and I walked and pushed the 4 kids in the strollers. Micaela was the only "antsy pants", so I carried her for a few miles of the walk, but other than that, they stayed in their stroller and enjoyed the long walk. At the completion of the walk, the NICU was hosting a "NICU reunion" where families and children of Mercer's NICU reunited and spent time together. It was an all around good day! p.s. As you can see, Mommy mad each of the kids a special shirt-- showing their thanks to the MOD! :)

Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Our triplets were a part of this "half a million" in 2006 when they were born early (at 35 weeks and 1 day). Although they were in overall good health (thank goodness!), they still needed a little extra care the first few days of life, so they spent the first 9 days of their lives in the NICU. The March of Dimes goes hand-in-hand with the NICU. The MOD is such a great organization and we are glad they were there for our babies and us.
